We’ve been using Snapchat for a while and we know how the big brands use it, so we can have a pretty good idea of how we should be creating stories over there. But maybe you’re not so sure about the stories on Instagram. Why, if it looks so alike? Ok, the format may look similar but remember, the audience and essence of every platform are quite different. So, we listed a few good examples of brands using this resource perfectly.
1. W Magazine
Nowadays, the main goal is to show the most natural view of someone’s life, and W Magazine knew how to do this with its “BTS: In Bed With Model Nina Agdal” story. They showed up the model in a very intimate scenario: her bed. They showed us a different side of the model, out of her fashion world. Isn’t this cool? We can finally see how she looks fresh in the morning and without a pose, just being who she is.
If we think about fashion, we’re thinking of classy and refine things. Burberry knows this, and they really understand how to handle their visual branding on their Instagram Stories. They showed us a good compilation of videos and images from one of their private events. This story had a film style and introduced us some familiar stars we’re related to. We could feel we had a good inside of a fancy world. Cool, right? Basically, we’re not there but we could see the best moments.
3. The Ellen Show
Ellen DeGeneres is all about a good sense of humor, celebrities, and amazing characters. On her show, they know the power of viral content, but they don’t fall in a cheap version of it. They know how to present the viral content in a visually well-constructed way. In this story, they used the “Meme” power with a “Call to action function”. Put these things together and your audience will go wherever you lead them.
There’s anything that Netflix does wrong? OMG! They won’t stop surprising us, and we love it. We thought that our Netflix fever stopped with Stranger Things, at least for this year, but no. They launched a new series called “The Crown” and at the premiere, they gave us an exclusive access to the stars with a funny Q&A story. We’re sure this story made everyone chill, and also joined the premiere in a different way.
“Day of the Dead” is a Mexican holiday celebrated a few days after Halloween. On this day, skulls decorate a lot of places and Instagrames knew how visually important this day is. They made a cool contest through their story section, where they showed us some cool graphics created with the stories drawing tools. Awesome! You probably hadn’t thought about how to interact with your followers through this, and now you got a good idea.
Now it’s time for you to be creative with your storytelling skills. Take a good advantage of this powerful tool!
